Adventure Island Fun In The Sun

My husband and I (mid 60’s) decided to take a chance on this water park even though recent reviews weren’t too favorable. Seems like all water parks in central Florida have some problems. The price for admission was good at $44.99 online. Parking at $30 similar to other parks I have visited. Lockers at $25 ridiculous but we didn’t take anything valuable in beside a credit card. No problem finding a shaded spot. Crowds not too bad. Saw a lot of school groups but didn’t wait long in line. All but two slides were open. Good choices for food with prices similar to other venues. We split a chicken tender meal which was enough for two at $16.99. Soda $5 average price. Very clean. I would visit again. We had a lot of fun.
Good fun for all ages

We visited Adventure Island on a trip to Tampa. It was a very good day.
Because there were so many of us and a baby and two toddlers, we rented a ten person cabana. A little pricey, but we split the cost and it was worth every penny. The place has plenty of seating, a waterproof lockbox and a good size refrigerator. It was stocked with bottled water, cotton candy and caramel corn were also provided. Danielle was our very competent hostess. She even brought the food we ordered.
The park- it is not crowded, has lots of water activities for all ages, and is clean., although could use some tlc. They seem understaffed and some of their features were closed.
Of course some of the clientele have tacky taste in swimming gear, but one finds that in every water park.
The food stands were out of much of their menu items and many were closed, facilitating a one hour wait in line for a hamburger (which wasn’t available on their delivery menu).
This is a very family friendly park, no bad behavior or language that any of us encountered. The staff was courteous.
There were no crowds most of the day- we went on a Tuesday. We waited out a late afternoon downpour- typical Florida.
Maybe they don’t need things like free drinks and sunscreen (like Holiday World, Santa Claus, Indiana) to attract more people.
The section of town this is in might look a little shady, but we had no issues and the people we encountered walking to and from our hotel were friendly and helpful.
Very expensive and half the rides closed.

This place is a rip off. Arrived to a notice board informing us that half the park was closed. When I asked if they were re opening the staff couldn’t have cared less. They ask you to not bring in any food and then most of the eateries were closed.
The rides we did get to go on were great. Queues were short and we got to go on many times.
The Cabana was a good call glad we hired that.
An email to customers warning them would be something to consider?
Really poor customer service.
Not overly impressed

This was our first time visiting and we were underwhelmed. Numerous rides were not even open and others closed at earlier times. Many concessions were not open. The all-day dining is a joke as there are very little options and you have to wait 90 mins between orders. No pizza, no sandwiches, no subs. The grounds was under construction and messy. It was obvious how under staffed they are. Over all it felt second rate, not a destination.
I feel cheated.

I reviewed the trip advisor reviews prior to calling Adventure Island on 4-18-2022 to verify that all of the attractions were open. I was told repeatedly that everything was open. I asked for an email to confirm that and was told they do not do that. When I arrived I was very disappointed to discover that 4 water slides were in fact not open and the wave pool had no waves. My husband waited in line for about an hour for lunch for my son. They were clearly understaffed. I find it unacceptable and unethical to charge customers full price for tickets that are nonrefundable only for the customers to find out that they are not going to be able to enjoy the entire park. Moreover, when we tried to use the website to purchase tickets ahead of time it was not functioning. My husband called Adventure Island only to be hung up on by the employee that answered the phone. I called back to report this and there was no accountability. Clearly, they do not value their customers or we would not be treated like this.
